WARNING!!!

YOUR MAJOR PROJECT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.


Design, Marketing, and Advertising Product Project
You will be creating a product that has never been produced before (creativity is KEY!). Although class time will be provided in which to complete this product, any aspect you don’t finish will need to be completed outside of class prior to presentation day.


REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Product -
    1. In a well-written paragraph, describe the product & identify the target market.
    2. Produce a detailed visual sketch or poster or 3D model of the product.
    3. Identify the specific places the product will be sold.
    4. Identify the consumer for the product.
    5. Elaborate on the cost of the product and how you arrived at that figure.
    6. Justify pricing.
  2. Promotion -
    1. Perform a scripted and rehearsed commercial that is one to two minutes in length. The commercial must be performed from memory; you may not read it as you perform.



GRADING:


  1. Product-- THREE DAILY GRADES
    1. Typed paragraph including detailed description of product and target market.
    2. Visual aid
    3. Typed paragraph including details about projected locations, consumers, costs, and pricing.
  2. Promotion - ONE DAILY GRADE-- Typed, well-written commercial script 
  3. Promotion-- ONE TEST GRADE-- Preparation and delivery of commercial
      1. Costumes must be worn.
      2. Script must be memorized.
      3. You may video the commercial ahead of time, turn it in, and show it on the classroom screen.
  4. Group participation -THREE DAILY GRADES
    1. Each member will complete a survey about the other group members that will be confidential (two daily grades).
    2. I will assign a daily grade based upon the participation I have observed in class.
  5. Overall product and presentation-- ONE TEST GRADE


PRESENTATION DATE:  May 27
 
Any group member absent during one of the assigned work periods and/or the actual presentation and fails to complete his/her portion of the project will be given alternative assignments to complete.
In other words, BE PRESENT AND DO YOUR JOB! If you think the alternative assignment will be easier, you might want to reconsider.

SPEECH MARKETING PROJECT
ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT

In lieu of the group marketing assignment, the following is to be used as an alternative:
1      Go to the blog for Monday, December 8.
2      Click on the link for The 35 Greatest Speeches.
3      Choose two of the speeches.
      Write them on paper or type them on computer. (2 daily grades)

4      Write a comparison/contrast paper for the two speeches. It must be on paper and contain the following:
a.      An introductory paragraph. (1 daily grade)
b.      Two paragraphs comparing the two speeches (telling how they are alike). (1)
c.       Two paragraphs contrasting the two speeches (telling how they are different). (1)
d.      A conclusion paragraph. (1)
e.      Each of the six paragraphs must contain a minimum of four sentences.
f.    Read your paper to the class. (2)

1. Show and Tell speech.
2. You will bring something (appropriate) to class tomorrow and tell the other students about it.
3. For simplicity and practicality, don't bring something that is alive, such as an animal or insect. 
4. On an index card which the teacher will give you, you must make a list or outline of what you plan to say.
5. The card will be turned in for a daily grade.
6. The speech must be between one minute and two minutes long.
7. You will present your speech in class tomorrow.
8. It will be a daily grade.
9. This is not a joint project with anyone else, so stay in your seat and work on your speech.
10. If you finish and have absolutely nothing to do except be noisy, the teacher will be instructed to have you write the following (legibly) on paper and turn it in:


The Gettysburg Address

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate – we cannot consecrate – we cannot hallow – this ground. 1. Get final interview questions.
2. Of the ten questions, your partner will draw five. He/she will ask you three of them. 
3. You will have someone video this exchange on a cell phone.
4. You will also draw five and ask your partner three of them.
5. He/she will also have someone video the exchange on a cell phone.
6. Submit the two videos separately into the "Spring Interview" folder in Google Classroom. (You may have to put it into YouTube and then load it into Google Classroom.)
7. Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the interview.
8. This is due on Tuesday, May 12.
9. The interview video will be a test grade.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. You are interviewing for a job at Main Event.
  2. You will create a real, up-to-date resume (no false information).
  3. You must dress accordingly on the day of your interview.
  4. You and your partner will interview each other.
  5. Your grade will ONLY be based on your answers to the interview questions, not on the answers of your partner.
  6. Below are questions that an interviewer may ask. You will practice answering these questions with your partner.
  7. On the day of the interview, I will tell your partner which questions to ask (only five per interview). You must be prepared to answer three of the five.
  8. You will have a smart phone available to video the interview (separately).
  9. You will video the interview and turn it in to Google Classroom.
  10. Grading rubric for interview (Test Grade):
    1. Handshake 10 points
    2. Appropriate attire 20 points
    3. Three questions 50 points
    4. Non-verbal skills 20 points
-eye contact, not
slouching, etc

9. What irritates you about other people and how do you  deal with it?
10. Describe how you would handle a situation if you were required to finish multiple
     tasks by the end of the day, and there was no conceivable way that you could finish
     them.
